MIAMI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL SUDDENDLY RETRACTED THE FILM FROM ITS 2008 PROGRAMMING

Dear Friend:

I hope you will join us for a special fundraiser for The Sugar Babies this coming Wednesday at Azucar Nightclub in Miami.  Also, since as of January 25th, the Miami International Film Festival suddenly retracted the film from its 2008 programming,  I have decided to screen the film in its entirety at Azucar. 
Though I have profound faith that upon seeing the injustice of what is depicted in the film many people will be moved to do what they can, it is perhaps because of that very same injustice that I should have been very surprised had the film actually been screened at a film festival that geographically lies right in the midst of things.....   
I believe that in the end, Truth is what matters and what is wrong, will be made right-- no matter how long it takes; and there are already too many people firmly committed to sharing this Truth. For no matter how many walls come up, others will crumble.  It's out of my hands, and unstoppable now....
I thank the Unity Coalition, The Miami Group and Azucar Nightclub for initiating and staging this event, and I am equally appreciative of any other organization, person or venue that has had the unwavering Integrity to take this on.

Funds raised during this event will be used to pay for film's awareness campaign and for travel expenses during a Humanitarian Relief delegation back to island to deliver over 300 toys to the children of the Bateys, and a team of doctors all made possible thanks to the generousity of THE UNITY COALITION!  www.unitycoalition.org
